DISCOVERY APPLE

Season: August to September

Discovery is one of the most popular English early apples. It is grown commercially in the UK, and is quite widely available in the UK in late August and early September.

The colours are a fresh yellow-green, usually with dark red patches where the sun has caught it and the flavour often has a hint of strawberry although can be slightly acidic rather than sweet like other varieties. The discovery is delicious when served straight from the fridge and slightly chilled.

Discovery is a good apple tree for the garden, being fairly easy to grow and is one of the more popular of the early English apples.
